Home Break In at 3rd and R St NW, Monday, April 30th

Please see this message from a new resident at R and 3rd St NW

Yesterday (Monday, 4/30) we arrived home around 4:30 pm to find our house broken into.  The basement door was kicked in, and items taken include 2 silver macbook laptops and 2 bikes (along with some smaller items). If neighbors could be on the lookout for these items, that would be much appreciated.  The bikes in particular are quite distinctive–one is a black LeMond road bike (Buenos Aires model), and the other a darker green Rocky Mountain touring bike (Sherpa model).

Thanks and we look forward to meeting you and the other Bates area residents soon, Krista

Very sorry to hear. We’ll definitely keep our eyes out for your bikes.

Did the green Rocky Mountain touring bike kind of look like a mountian bike? Was it green, with a older tailrack, and led headlight? I have seen Eric with bike this week, and he has no reason to have a bike. Also, walk the neighborhood and keep an eye out for it. This is the suggestion I received from MPD when my bike was stolen. I think my bike lives somewhere near 1st and Florida NW, but I am not sure. However, in your case, finding the bike, or even its current user, should privide leads on a burglary. My case was no where near a severe.

  3. Do you have a photo of the bikes? That might be helpful to post and circulate.
