I-395 AIR RIGHTS TUNNEL (ART) REHAB

STAGE TWO WORK TO BEGIN IN THE TUNNEL

STAGE FOUR TO BEGIN ON MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE AND H STREET BRIDGES

 TEMPORARY TRAFFIC CHANGES WILL OCCUR

EFFECTIVE AUGUST 20, 2012

I-395 Tunnel

DDOT will switch the temporary traffic barriers in the southbound and northbound tunnels as the contractor prepares for the next stage of the rehabilitation project. Variable Message Signs (VMS) will be installed prior to each tunnel entrance to caution drivers. Work being done will improve the electrical, exhaust and safety systems in the tunnel.

I-395 Tunnel Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)

Traffic will shift two lanes to the right in both the north and south bound tunnels.

H Street and Massachusetts Avenue Bridges, Between 2nd and 3rd Streets, NW

The contractor will install protection shields, new pavement markings and signage to assist traffic and pedestrians through the one-block work zone.

H Street, NW, Maintenance of Traffic (MOT):

West bound traffic will maintain two lanes.

East bound traffic will maintain one lane

Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)

Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in both east and west bound directions.

 

All Construction activities are scheduled to take place Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and may also occur on weekends as needed. The community is reminded to follow all traffic signage and signaling for everyone’s safety.
