Message from our ANC Commissioner

I didn’t get this directly, but lifted it off the Bloomingdale listserv.

See this message from ANC 5C01 Commissioner Anita Bonds.

Dear Neighbors,
I write to invite your feedback regarding situations that you believe the police should look at closely or keep a close eye out for that

(1) were problematic last year and might develop again this year, or
(2) situations that seem to be developing this year or
(3) situations that you have a concern about occurring this year.

Situations include:

— questionable frequent activity at certain addresses,
— dark locations in parks, on streets, residential entrances and stairwells,
— unusual activity very late at night or early morning hours,
— vacant open buildings and squatters in vacant buildings,
— fresh gang markings on structures,
— late night activity in alleyways,
— unleashed vicious dogs on the street, etc.

As neighbors, us can be vigilant and look out for each other, but I’ve alerted the Commander about some things, but e need the police to take a comprehensive look at our Single-Member District to develop pro-active strategies before circumstances get out of hand, especially in the new climate that us residents find ourselves with the advent of firearms being more readily accessible and likely the choice of use in heated situations.

Please feel free to contact me directly via e-mail at adbonds @ gmail.com or phone at 202- 636- 9535 x2301 with your comments.

Also you may contact Commander Greene at lamar.greene @ dc.gov.

Let’s work together for a safe and enjoyable community,
Anita Bonds, ANC5C01
