More Vacant Property

The big and long-empty dwelling (once a church) at 304 Q St. NW is finally for sale. We spent quite a while getting the city to get the owners to clean up the property, secure the building and otherwise prevent further deterioration. I’m glad it’s on offer and hope someone buys it for some worthwhile purpose, like condos or apartments.
Prospective buyers are told to bring flashlights. So whoever buys it – you’re out there, somewhere – might need a sense of adventure. But you’ll have good neighbors.

  1. Peter, is this the right address? 304 is two houses down from me, and it is a tiny house. It’s possible that the owner (a young family who wanted to turn it into a rental) have decided to sell it, but it doesn’t seem to match your description.

  2. Per Long & Foster site: $275,000.

Reasonable? I don’t know what shape the building is in. Here’s the seller’s description:

GREAT INVESTMENT PROPERTY for a person with vision in a good NW location. Total fixer upper. Take a flashlight when viewing”

    1. Reasonable if you can get the construction loans to do some major work on the structure, or just tear it down. The land alone is probably worth most of the asking price, though.
