I’m finding that local politics is complex. Shaw isn’t an exception; the area across the NJ Ave border has split off into different neighborhood associations. I won’t pretend to know details, but the Convention Center Civic Association (CCCA) is one of the newer civic associations that got frustrated with the older one and formed their own.
I just saw that they had Congresswoman Norton speak at their Tuesday meeting. Last month they had Mayor Fenty. Interesting heavy hitter line up they have.
I also just saw on their last agenda that Shaw Main Streets Open House June 18. Find out what our great local businesses have to offer our community. But I couldn’t find more information yet at ShawMainStreets.com.
