DC GOV has some pretty cool green programs

Check out DC’s Green Agenda and some of the things going on with it here:

The series is to inform gardeners about the judicious use of pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers (IPM) and will also address Stormwater Management and Sustainability topics. They will be held the first Saturday of every month, from 10 am – 12 pm in a variety of places – including DPR facilities and RiverSmart Homes sites.

Next workshop: DDOE/DPR’s first Organic Gardening & Lawn Care Workshop:
“Backyard Habitats”
June 6th, 9:15am – 2:30pm.

This workshop will focus on teaching residents about backyard wildlife habitat and landscaping with native plants.  All participants will receive a “habitat kit” to get them started creating wildlife habitat at home.

For information on registering for this workshop send an email to BackyardHabitat@dc.gov.  Workshops will be held the first Saturday of every month.
