Please sign petition to eliminate billboards at NJ AVE/P St. NW

On Friday, Mayor Fenty is scheduled to walk through Bates/Hanover area.  A major concern that will be expressed to him is the apparent near-unanimous resentment of the residents here to the billboards that blight the road at NJ Ave/ P St NW intersection.  This has been an issue for decades and the residents have never been able to get the government to move on the issue, despite the billboards being illegal, with various DC Code, Zoning, and Property Tax irregularities or violations.

Neighbors have walked door to door and have gathered over 100 signatures.  We would like to at least double that before the Mayor’s visit in two days.   You can help us by signing the petition against the billboards here (if you haven’t already). Please send this link to any DC resident affected by this blight, to your friends, neighbors, city leaders, and constituencies. We must insist DCGOV pay attention to our community.
