The blog got an email from a journalist looking to profile the neighborhood. If anyone would like to talk to him, please send him or me an email. Otherwise, please comment below on your “perceptions of Truxton Circle.”
Thanks! Caryn

Subject: Washington Examiner Article on Truxton CircleDear Bates Area Civic Association:
I’m doing a neighborhood story for the real estate section of the DC Examiner and I would like to include someone from the neighborhood’s perceptions about Truxton Circle. My stories tend to focus on positive aspects of a given area–fun things to do, restaurants, living options, etc.
I have attached one of my stories for your review–on Kingman Park. Please let me know a good time to call or how best to connect via email.
Sincerely,
Dean Smith
There are many things that make life in Truxtun Circle, and one of them is the transportation options. I would say all the options are here. The most permanent is the is the Metro Rail escalator in the Southeast corner of Truxtun Circle, at the intersection of New York and Florida Avenues. With a short walk past the Five Guys restaurant one can board the Red Line and reach the wilds of Maryland. If you head West through Shaw, you can reach the Yellow and Green lines. National Airport and the rest of the District are only minutes away. I happen to feel our Metro Bus service is more notable. The G2 cuts through North to South before heading east through the District. The 90, 92, 93, and 96 cut across Truxtun Circle and take riders to so many points of interest in North East and South East. A short walk to 7th Street gets you a ride to every Nationals game. Let’s not forget the 80, P6, G8 and others. If you don’t want a car, Truxtun Circle might be the place for you. I can walk to the Mall with my dogs and family in just over 20 minutes. Bike lanes crisscross the neighborhood. Many stores are easily within walking distance. Many jobs are also within an easy commute. You can have a car, but it might not move that much if you live here. Of course, should you want to drive out of town, I395, RI Ave, NY ave, and other routes are right at your doorstep.
