It is my sad duty to report to you that Ms. Diane Alexander, of the 100 block of Bates Street, N.W., passed away on the morning of Monday, May 10, 2010. Her funeral services will be held this Saturday, May 15, 2010, at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 46 Q Street, N.W. A viewing will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., immediately followed by a Celebration of Her Life from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
For those of you who might not have had a chance to get to know her, Diane was a 25+ year resident of the Bates Area and she was very supportive of the work of the Bates Area Civic Association. In addition, she was a longstanding and a faithful member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Indeed, her many contributions to her community and to her church are too numerous to recount at this time. Suffice it to say, she was a highly valued member of the BACA and of our community who will be sorely missed by her family members, neighbors, and other friends!
