This note from organizer Ted McGinn:
Bloomingdale Farmers Market, Sunday May 16th 10am- 2pm Rain or Shine, Located at the corner of R and First Street NW
Just 5 days till………. Goodmorning Bloomingdale !
The market bell will ring in the third season of the Bloomingdale Farmer’s Market and a celebration of locally produced food.
New this year: Dolcezza Artisanal Gelato. You know how at a ANC or Civic Association there always seems to be a angry person that yells out… “that wouldn’t happen in Georgetown” or ” why can’t we have it like they do in Georgetown” and everyone nods their head in agreement. Ok Guys your day has come. Dolcezza Gelato from, that’s right, Georgetown is coming to the market to tempt us with their yummy handcrafted frozen delights. Check them out.
Also this year a encore from a past market producer: Chez Hareg. The new Chez Hareg Gourmet Bakery located at 2312 4th St. NE Washington, opened its doors on Saturday November 10, 2009 as the largest All-natural bakery retailer and wholesale supplier in the DC metro area specializing in European style traditional and vegan baked goods. Hareg took a year off from our market to make the move to her new store in Edgewood and to create a line of vegan cookies for Wholefoods.
We will post more market news and what we will have this Sunday next time. Did I mention that I will be handing out free seeds and advice for home gardens?
