Neighbors,
I attended the funeral services for Diane Alexander this morning. For those of you who may not be sure who she was, I have pasted her picture above.
I met Diane and her family when I first moved onto Bates Street — some 20+ years ago. The thing that struck me about her almost immediately was how dedicated she was to her family, to her faith and to Ebenezer Baptist Church. Everyone who spoke at the celebration of her life today, mentioned what a kind and generous person she was. As a neighbor, friend and member of the Bates Area Civic Association, Diane will be sorely missed in our community. The sanctuary was filled with family members, friends, co-workers and the members of her church at today’s service. I wasn’t surprised to see a sanctuary full of people today there to celebrate her life and legacy. By their presence, it was made clear that she was one who meant so very much to many.
Sincerely,
Jim Berry
