Neighborhood Corps member are groups of people who live, work, congregate in the same community in the District of Columbia who have been trained to be active volunteers capable of assisting first responders and other community members during emergencies or disasters that occur in their own community.
To be a Neighborhood Corps member one must complete the Neighborhood Corps Academy training program. The Academy is a three week long training program that meets on Tuesday and Thursday nights (6pm to 9pm) with most meetings located at 441 4th St., NW, 11th Floor, Washington, DC 20001 (near the Judiciary Square Metro Station, Red Line, Courthouse exit).
