The March for Peace is a call for peace, unity and healing in our community. Violent crimes have plagued our neighborhoods for far too long. Each segment of the community plays a part in the efforts to make this a better place. We must respect, accept and embrace diversity. This march will serve as a reminder of the responsibility that we all have to uphold the decency and communal aura that we long for throughout our neighborhoods. Peace does not come just in the form of putting down weapons. It also is shaped in the form of basic civility that stands above differences in opinions, lifestyles and culture.
Please join The March for Peace on Saturday February 12, 2011 at 3pm. The march will begin at the intersection of North Capitol Street and Florida Avenue, N.W.
