Dear Dog Owners –
As you may have heard, although parts of the Park at Ledroit – at 3rd and V St NW – are finally open, the DOG PARK WILL NOT open until next week. DPR was late ordering the necessary signs for the dog park and the temporary ones are not arriving until Tuesday. In addition, there was some issue with how compacted the dog park surface is, which needs to be addressed before the dog park opens. The surface should be addressed over the weekend. On Tuesday morning, we will be doing a walk-through with DPR and, hopefully, the dog park will open at some point on Tuesday after the temporary signs are hung.
I ask that you please DO NOT let your dog run off-leash in the general park area. There are MANY unsupervised children in the park – let’s avoid any issues. Please also note that DC has strict leash laws and MPD enforces them.
We are all excited for the dog park to open and are looking forward to a summer of much dog romping.
