Dear Commissioners, Community Leaders and Friends of the FloridaAvenuePark,
I received a call from Ms. Jackie Stanley from DPR to notify me of the scheduled closing of the FloridaAvenuePark. The park will start the pre-construction, demolition phase on Monday, August 1st (as we had notified the committee, this could have taken place anytime after July 9th when the contract was approved).
Commissioner Thomas, DPR and I will be coordinating a community meeting the week of August 8th to discuss the project and for community input. As leaders of your community, this information is being shared with you to discriminate to your constituents. We will be putting out flyers and notices of the meeting once we set the exact date and time.
