There will not be a Bates Area Civic Association meeting due to the Ward 5 Redistricting Committee meeting on this date to vote on the final ANC boundaries for Ward 5 and on the number of Commissions and number of SMDs per Commission. Community members are welcome to attend and observe. Please remember, only Redistricting Committee Members can vote and give input on the proposals that will be presented.
The meeting will take place from 6:30pm – 8:30pm at the 5th District Police Department at 1805 Bladensburg Road NE, Washington, D.C.

I stopped by the FIfth District HQ this evening around 7:40 pm. No signs of life. So either the meeting wrapped up early or the meeting got rescheduled.
For some of us who cannot attend meetings and don’t understand, please explain the pros and cons of redistricting our neighborhood and what effects it may have on the neighborhood.
Brandy – we have discussed the issue at the Civic Association Meetings as well as the ANC meetings. I will post an update with a review of the impact (positive and negative) this may have on our area. Thank you.
