Make your home difficult to break in. Install deadbolt locks on all your outside doors.
Lawn mowers, bikes, and barbecues should be stored out of sight, preferably indoors. Be careful with storage in garden sheds and garages. Subjects may carry lock cutters and can access these places within seconds.
Have adequate exterior lighting. Trim trees and shrubs so that they cannot be used as hiding places for intruders.
Be a good neighbor. If you notice anything suspicious in your neighborhood, call 911 immediately.
When transporting valuables, place them in the trunk before you get to the location where you intend to park. Do not transfer them at the parking place.
Always park in a well-lighted areas.
Mark radios, CBs, tape decks, telephones, batteries, wheel covers, and tires; If the stolen item is found later, the number can be traced back to you.
