Event Information

AIDS Walk Washington is a fundraising walk and 5k timed run benefiting and produced by Whitman-Walker Health, a non-profit community-based health organization which provides dependable, high-quality, comprehensive and accessible health care to those infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS.

1. If you are a registered participant, it’s never too early or too late to secure donations in support of AIDS Walk! Donors can contribute online through December 31, 2012.
2. Supporter checks should be made payable to ‘AIDS Walk Washington’.
3. Checks should be accompanied by a donation form with the participant name on it. To guarantee proper attribution, the walker name should be noted on the check’s memo line.
4. Checks should be sent to AIDS Walk Washington, 1701 14th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20056-3768. Please do not send cash by mail.

All donations are tax-deductible.

Event Location

AIDS Walk Washington will begin and end at Freedom Plaza (Pennsylvania Avenue and 13th Street, NW). The closest Metro stations are Federal Triangle (Blue / Orange lines) and Metro Center (Blue/Orange/Red lines).

Event Schedule

AIDS Walk Washington 2012 will take place the morning of Saturday, October 27.

Same-day registration and other activities begin	7:00 am
An uplifting program of music, speakers and warm-up exercises begins.	8:15 am
6th annual 5K timed run begins promptly.	8:30 am
26th annual AIDS Walk steps off.	9:15 am
Stick around for our post-Walk celebration with great musical performances and recognition of our top fundraising individuals and teams!	10:00 am

 

Fees

General Walk Registration: $25.00
General Walk Registration (Please ensure that the Walk is your preferred registration choice. You will NOT be able to change your registration to the timed run at a later date).

Student / Senior (60+) Walk Registration: $15.00
General Walk Registration (Please note that the Student / Senior Rate applies to the Walk only. This rate does not apply to the timed run. Do not select this option if you plan to participate in the timed run).

General Timed Run Registration: $35.00 (increases to $40 after October 23 and to $50 on October 27)

Sleep Walker Registration: $40.00
Want to sleep in on October 27 or just can’t be with us? Register here and you can support the effort from the comfort of your bed! Your commemorative AIDS Walk t-shirt will be mailed to you after the event.
