The Bates Area Civic Association (BACA) would like to coordinate a neighborhood alley clean up and community day:
When: Saturday, October 13
Time: 9:30am – 11:30am Alley Clean Up
12:00 PM Community Cook Out
Location: Your Alley
Each alley in our neighborhood could be cleaned up by simply having a good portion of the residents on each block come out and clean the back of their own alley. To accomplish this, we need to replicate what the Josh did with the Unit Block of Bates St NW.
· We need a volunteer from each block to distribute flyers to his/her block (flyers will be provided)
- BACA will provide (at the corner of P and Firs St NW)
- Some cleaning tools
- Trash bags
- 3 dedicated locations for DPW to pick up the trash (1st and P, 3rd and P and Q and 1st St NW)
- BACA will provide soft drinks, water and a cook out to neighbors that participate
This effort will not only enhance the quality of life in your block, but reduce the amount of trash attracting rats and other animals to our alleys.
