Update Fatal Pedestrian Hit and Run 100 Block M St., NE

Vehicle and Person of Interest Sought in Fatal Pedestrian Hit & Run: 100 Block of M Street, NE

(Washington, DC) – The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a vehicle and driver in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash which occurred in the 100 block of M Street, NE on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at approximately 10:38 pm.

 On Saturday, February 16, 2013 at approximately 10:38 pm, a unit from the First District was flagged down if reference to a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. The investigation revealed that a pedestrian fell onto the roadway in the crosswalk in the 100 block of M Street, NE and then was run over by a vehicle. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the adult male to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The driver of the striking vehicle did not remain on the scene.

 The decedent has been identified as 20 year-old Darnell Christopher Ross of Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

 The investigation of this crash is ongoing.
