Mayor Gray Launches One City Action Plan Website; Site Enables Residents & Stakeholders to Track Progress on Plan’s Initiatives

Mayor Gray launched the One City Action Plan website, enabling residents and stakeholders to track progress on each of the 66 specific action items and 19 long-term indicators outlined in the plan.

“Transparency and public feedback have always been integral parts of the One City Action Plan, and this site further allows the public to track our progress as we follow the plan,” said Mayor Gray. “I’m proud that we’re already making significant progress on achieving its ambitious goals.”

The One City Action Plan, which was released in July 2012, is a comprehensive strategy that describes in specific steps how to achieve the Mayor’s vision of growing and diversifying the District’s economy, educating and preparing the District’s workforce for the New Economy, and improving the quality of life for all. Organized by goals, strategies and actions, the plan provides District residents and business leaders alike with a concrete roadmap to understand and measure progress and hold District officials accountable in the areas that matter most to stakeholders.

On the site, a status update is provided for each action item from the plan, and the items are labeled as completed, on track or delayed. Of the 66 action items, to date nine have been completed, 55 are on track and two have been delayed. Progress on the long-term indicators found in the plan is expressed in graphs showing the baseline for the indicator, the current level and the target.

The website, which is located at http://ocap.dc.gov, is patterned after the structure of the One City Action Plan itself. It will be updated quarterly.
