MID CITY EAST INITIATIVE: JUNE OUTREACH   The Mid City East Initiative is a joint effort of the Office of Planning (OP) and District Department of Transportation (DDOT) to holistically plan for transportation, commercial revitalization, redevelopment, historic resources, sustainability and parks and open space. We are currently in the existing conditions phase and will be developing draft recommendations over the summer.     We have created 4 major ways for the public to provide input in June.   1: ONLINE ENGAGEMENT   We are excited to announce that the Mid City East MindMixer site is going to be updated with a new round of questions on Friday, June 7! That means that there are only a few days left to answer the questions currently on the site. If you haven’t visited in a while, check out the new ideas and comments from other Mid City East residents. Make sure to share your vision for your community, your ideas for retail, and much more!   Remember to check back this weekend to share your ideas about how to preserve, enhance, and transform your community.   See you at engage.midcityeast.com!
2: DDOT’s MID CITY EAST LIVABILITY STUDY   Concurrent with OP’s small area planning effort, DDOT is developing strategies for the neighborhood streets of Mid City East to provide safe pedestrian and bicycle  access to transit and community amenities; reduce cut-through traffic and speeding on local neighborhood streets; and enhance landscaping to minimize stormwater runoff.
