Worship at 7:30 a.m. and 10 a.m.

1400 First Street NW Washington, DC 20001
Dr. H. Beecher Hicks, Jr., Senior Servant

My Dear Metropolitan,

Remember those blessings and challenges I mentioned last week? Well, this is our challenge week while our blessing is “under construction”. The paving, striping and lighting of the P Street parking lot is underway, and the parking lot will not be available for our use on Sunday.

There will be two worship services on Sunday-7:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. WE ARE METROPOLITAN STRONG and we know God will bless our faithfulness. Come to worship!

Our alternative plans remain the same: Carpool, park legally in the neighborhood, be nice to our neighbors, and walk a little bit farther to make your way to worship. Our Temple Sentinels and members of the Diaconate will be on hand to guide you into the building. As you pass the parking lot, praise God for the blessing that is ours to share with CAPCS!

If you are absolutely unable attend worship on Sunday, please login to the Metropolitan web site at www.metropolitanbaptist.org, watch video clips of some of our previous worship services, and take advantage of the “E-Giving” feature online at www.metropolitanbaptist.org/giving. This blessing still requires our faithfulness in giving.

Dr. Jesse Wood (7:30 a.m.) and Dr. Donte Hickman, Sr. (10 a.m.) have an anointed Word just for you on Sunday!

With love,

pH

According to Commissioner Joyce Robinson-Paul, the 100+ parking spaces at the Community Academy Public Charter Schools was to address neighborhood parking concerns and to support opening events at Dunbar. Yet according to Metropolitan Baptist Church, the parking lot was built for them.

  1. Do we know what the resolution re: the church even being there was? I remember that it was against the zoning of that location, right? Can we follow up on the church’s ability to stay there?

Question, comment, or suggestion?
