Bates Area Civic Association

  Thank you to Councilmember Kenyan McDuffie, Councilmember’s staff, Commissioner Teri J. Quinn, DCRA Director Majett, DDOT Director Bellamy, DCRA Inspector, DPR, DGS, DOH, DDOE, and The Great Neighbors of the Bates Area Civic Association for coming out for the Neighborhood Walk on Saturday, October 5^th.

 The purpose of the walk was to identify key areas that each District Government Agency needs to address and develop an action plan for addressing those concerns. Concerns ranged from vacant/nuisance properties, graffiti removal, illegal dumping, illegal commercial vehicle parking, crime and traffic.

 A planned route starting at the Florida Avenue Park to R St NW and 4^th Street was followed. 4^th St towards P St and up 3^rd to Q St NW towards Florida Avenue. Focus was also given to the alley behind the 1500 block of N Capitol Street NW and 18 Bates St NW.

 A report of the issues found will be provided at the Bates Area Civic Association Meeting on Monday, October 7^th.
