4_NJ_Ave 8FLAve_Mural 18Bates CM_McDuffie Fl_NCap P_BatesAlley R_St Walk_StartCThank you to Councilmember Kenyan McDuffie, Councilmember’s staff, Commissioner Teri J. Quinn, DCRA Director Majett, DDOT Director Bellamy, DCRA Inspector, DPR, DGS, DOH, DDOE, and The Great Neighbors of the Bates Area Civic Association for coming out for the Neighborhood Walk on Saturday, October 5th.

The purpose of the walk was to identify key areas that each District Government Agency needs to address and develop an action plan for addressing those concerns. Concerns ranged from vacant/nuisance properties, graffiti removal, illegal dumping, illegal commercial vehicle parking, crime and traffic.

A planned route starting at the Florida Avenue Park to R St NW and 4th Street was followed. 4th St towards P St and up 3rd to Q St NW towards Florida Avenue. Focus was also given to the alley behind the 1500 block of N Capitol Street NW and 18 Bates St NW.

A report of the issues found will be provided at the Bates Area Civic Association Meeting on Monday, October 7th.
