SNAP/Food Stamp Cuts November 1 – Help Get the Word Out
On November 1, 2013, all SNAP/Food Stamp households across the nation will see a decrease in their monthly benefit amount as a result of federal law. In 2009, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act increased benefits for all SNAP/Food Stamp households as a part of the stimulus package but these temporary increases will end November 1. The amount of the decrease is based on household size, income, and expenses. Households that currently receive the minimum amount of $16 each will see a $1 decrease to $15 each month.
| Household Size | Maximum Decrease in SNAP Amount |
| 1 | -$11 |
| 2 | -$20 |
| 3 | -$29 |
| 4 | -$36 |
