Community Meeting with DPR Re Rec Center/Use of Pool at Dunbar

Residents
Over fifteen years ago, the Dunbar Recreation Center was asked to leave the Dunbar SHS because they needed the space for their school.  For approximately twelve years, the Concerned Coalition (friends) for the New York Avenue Playground Area worked to establish a plan, which establishes a wish list of ideas to bring recreation to this community. Department of Parks and Recreation(DPR) is interested in your input.  Many of you are starting families or interested in Healthy living and need to bring ideas that would make this neighborhood a better place for you and your family.  Many have expressed their interest in DPR staffing this recreation facility to bring a level of professional recreation that other neighborhoods enjoy.  Please come out with your ideas and let’s move forward with bringing meaningful recreation back to our neighborhood.  I look forward to working with you, however, your input will help in understanding the everchanging needs of our community.  We will also receive up to date report and information on when the Dunbar SHS Community School will open the pool for residents.  Hope to see you at the above meetings.
