Hello all – I will post the meeting minutes soon, but there was one time-sensitive matter for a hearing this Wed., Feb. 5, at 11:00 a.m.  Kate from Councilmember (CM) McDuffie’s office asked for witnesses and/or input via email for this hearing regarding the permit renewal process for private waste facilities.  Kate’s email (from the CM’s website) is kmitchell@dccouncil.us.  Here is a link with more info:  http://www.kenyanmcduffie.com/community-alert-call-for-public-witnesses-for-hearing-on-private-solid-waste-facilities/  Kate explained that the two private solid waste facilities in DC are currently under a 25-year settlement agreement with the City, and this hearing relates to attempts to more effectively address problems with rodents, odors, etc. affecting neighboring residents and businesses of the two transfer stations.
