NPR Presents WORD: A Book Club of Extraordinary Women, Wine, and Music

NPR Presents brings you WORD: A Book Club of Extraordinary Women, Wine and Music  on March 6 through 8. This three-day events series will connect audiences with award-winning female writers at Studio 1, NPR’s 325-seat performance space. The WORD events are a live extension of the NPR special series “The Changing Lives of Women,” which takes a global look at the evolving realities of women’s lives. NPR Presents is a new national, multi-platform live events practice that furthers the mission of public radio through two-way conversations and intimate storytelling.

Live music from blues musician Maritri Garrett

2. When: Friday, March 7, 2014; doors open at 6:15 PM, showtime at 7:00 PM
What: Life in Motion: A Conversation with Ballerina Misty Copeland and NPR Contributor/OZY Media Co-Founder Carlos Watson (in collaboration with OZY Media)
Live music from vocalist Maya Azucena
Price: Tickets: $20, with a complimentary glass of wine

3. When: Saturday, March 8 at 10:00 AM
What: Books Always Everywhere and Other Stories Read by NPR Hosts
Price: Tickets: $10, with a complimentary healthy snack, beverage and fun activities
