Reminder – as the weather gets warmer, assaults and robberies tend to go up. Don’t be a victim of a crime of opportunity. Please remember, when walking, use some basic safety precautions:

• Avoid distractions such as talking on your cell phone
• Avoid texting while walking
• Avoid listening to music with ear buds while walking
• Avoid alleys and dark streets when possible

Remember, if you are distracted on your cell phone, changes are you won’t see the criminal coming towards you and unable to provide a description. Also, Ipads and smart phones, when being used while walking make you a target due to it’s value; its like walking around with 4 $100 bills in your hand.
