Freezing Rain Advisory

This is an important message from the District of Columbia AlertDC system.


The National Weather Service reports they have issued a freezing rain advisory in effect from 10 pm this evening until 9 am Monday morning. Freezing rain is expected within the National Capitol Region tonight mainly after 2 a.m. and possibly accumulating less than a tenth of an inch of ice.

The low temperature is expected to be around 31 degrees tonight with South winds at 3 to 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

A thin glaze of ice could form on untreated roads, sidewalks and vehicles. The morning commute could be impacted. Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving.
