Please join Mt. Sinai Baptist Church for a gallery talk and panel discussion on natural hair Saturday, February 28, 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm, as part of the “YOURS NATURALLY: Beauty That Grows on You” photography exhibition on view at the church until Sunday. The 13 (20 x 30 inch) color portraits are a portion of the national touring exhibition organized by award-winning photographer Jason Miccolo Johnson. “YOURS NATURALLY” celebrates women who wear natural hairstyles and is intended to change the way they see themselves and how others perceive them – particularly in the media and in popular culture. Women of diverse sizes, ages, complexions, and professions are featured in elegant photographs shot in the studio and on location in Washington.
