$1.2 Million Renovation of Florida Avenue Park to Begin in August

Council Member Harry Thomas has informed me that the renovations of the Florida Avenue and First ST Park are slated to begin in August of 2010. Many of the renovations will include addressing lighting, fencing, safety and overall community access.

To make the park more enjoyable and a source of pride for our neighborhood, I have asked Council Member Thomas to support my efforts to secure a grant from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities. The grant would be utilized to support different programs, performers and performances to take place at the park.

If anyone is interested in taking the lead or assist with this project, please contact me directly via email at Mrgeovani@aol.com.
