Now, I’ll admit, I don’t really know what permaculture means. But I certainly love that the Common Good City Farm, a short walk away, is going to teach me how to do it at a weekend course in June. Details here.
Common Good makes me feel good and I’ve never actually even seen their grounds (at the Gage Eckington School). It’s so close. It’s great for the community. It helps and provides tools for all to learn to garden their own nutritious food.
I’m betting permaculture has something to do with backyard gardening.
Spend a weekend learning the basics of permaculture design and urban gardening. Walk away with a toolbox of ecological design principles. Discussion on basic theories of permaculture and ecology will be mixed with hands-on learning of skills including composting, rain gardens, and soil improvement.
