Speaking of neighborhood heroes, I’d also like to send a huge thanks over to the Flower Power team: Derek, Geovani and Marie. They were sweating and carrying mounds of trash bags when I saw them Saturday. They spent their Saturday morning cleaning the neighborhood and fixing up some tree boxes. Turnout for this neighborhood cleanup was sparse, but hopefully we can get out and help them next time.
We talked about a monthly cleanup, maybe the first weekend of the month?

yes, it’s true. also worth a mention is Wally, on the south side of 3rd and P St. He is always out cleaning the side walk around that area. It’s pristine. And he’s just retired, so watch out neighborhood!
I would definitely be us for helping the first weekend of each month, even if it is simply picking up trash.
