Residential Parking on P St

Hi Neighbors,

I am starting the process of collecting enough signatures to make the 200 block of P Street, NW residential parking only between the hours of 7 AM – 8:30 PM, Monday – Friday. As you know, parking is very hard to come by on street cleaning days, and with more folks moving into the neighborhood each day it’s only going to get tougher. The unit and 100 block of P Street are already zoned residential, so we can’t even park on our own street! If you are interested in signing this petition, please call or email me so that we may schedule a time for me to come by and collect your signature. Thanks!

  1. I support you in spirit. Remember more than 50% should sign. You can have either one side of the street or both sides zoned.

  2. As long as you are in the same ward you can park in the residential parking so you can park in the already zoned areas.

  3. don’t think that’s true. nothing on my car says that I live in this ward unless I have an RPP sticker on my car, and you can’t get that unless your specific block of the street you live on is zoned. I asked for one at the DMV last week for exactly that reason and they wouldn’t give me one.

  4. You have to live on a street that is zoned for residential parking in order to get a RPP:

So if you happen to live on a street in the neighborhood that isn’t zoned, you won’t be able to get a permit, and thus won’t be able to park in zoned areas. Worth thinking about next time you are looking for a spot the night before street cleaning…
