The National Community Reinvestment Coalition launched a Women’s Business Center Monday funded by the Small Business Administration and backed by the D.C. Council.

The business center must match the SBA’s $150,000 loan over its first three years of work and will operate out of 1,584 square feet in the People Building at 64 New York Ave. NE.

There will be two full-time workers in the center as well as an intern that will provide training, counciling, business growth help and opportunities for women business owners.

The NoMa center plans to serve 250 women-owned businesses in 2010 and has an option to renew the grant for five years.

There are 110 such SBA-run centers nationwide.
