D.C. set to vote on legalizing marijuana, already a widely used drug

Just after 11 one morning last week, two men and two women, all in their early 20s, sat on a basketball court behind Dunbar High School in Northwest Washington and filled an empty cigar with marijuana — their first hit of the day.

It’s amazing that the Washington Post reporter could easily find and interview the pot smoker on the basketball court at the New York Avenue Playground … but MPD can’t do anything about the open-air drug market that operates there every afternoon and evening. I came home laste last Friday night and the drug truck was out there doing its thing at 2:00 am.
