Police Neighborhood Safety Walk a Success

Our deepest gratitude to Sgt. Dorrough, Commander Greene, the officers of PSA 501 and Fayette Vaughn-Lee for coordinating and participating in our neighborhood safety walk.  15 neighborhood residents plus 3 police officers participated in the walk from 7pm – 8:30pm.

The safety walk included the park at Florida and First ST, 3rd ST, Bates ST, O ST, First ST, N ST, and the alleys through several parts of the neighborhood. It was exciting to see some neighbors come out, speak to the officers and report incidents and other issues that MPD should be aware of. The end of the walk resulted with the officers walking with you responding to a call and making an arrest at the park.

We had a great opportunity to meet new neighbors, interact with the officers and enjoy our neighborhood. Together, we can accomplish so much!!! I hope we can double our attendees for the next walk.

  1. I probably missed the annoucement, but will the walks be repeated at the same time and day of the week? It sounds like I missed out on a great walk, but I can participate on most other Wednesdays.
