Countless people of all ages serve in numerous ways to improve their community every day – volunteering to make the District of Columbia a stronger and better place to live. The Mayor’s Community Service Award is an opportunity for citizens, corporations, government agencies, nonprofits, and faith-based organizations to reward and recognize volunteers for their outstanding community service. The District of Columbia Government defines service as: “A voluntary act of kindness that makes a difference in our community.”
Please see the application and guidelines for the Mayor’s Community Service Awards here*.
The deadline for the 2010 Mayor’s Community Service Award nominations has been extended to 5 pm, July 23, 2010.
