See this note from Greg on the Shaw list (Greg is a local resident and does Communications for Bread for City, located on 7th and P St.):
On behalf of Bread for the City, thanks for thinking about our Holiday Helpings turkey drive.
Just wanted to chime in to note that this program provides complete holiday grocery packages (including a turkey and all the trimmings for a feast) to more than 8,000 Bread for the City clients. These packages cost us $29 for a family of four.
A few things to note: to receive a Holiday Helpings package, people need to have been previously registered as Bread for the City clients. We do offer a supply of Holiday Helpings packages (at a reduced rate of $10/package) to some partner non-profits who have their own clientele.
We’ve been covering the holiday campaign on our blog and I’d be happy to answer any other questions you might have. You can make a donation to Holiday Helpings online. I can take any questions from people interested in organizational partnership!
Thanks again.
Greg
