See this note from NOMA Bid:
Dear Neighbors,
In an effort to provide additional security for bicycles in the racks at the New York Avenue Metro Station, NoMa BID Ambassadors and METRO Transit Police are giving more attention to bicycles at the station. Here are some tips on how to report stolen, abandoned or vandalized bicycles:
WMATA Transit Police have advised that stolen or vandalized bicycles at METRO stations should be reported immediately to the Station Manager. The Station Manager will contact METRO Transit Police, who will have an officer respond to take a report. Alternatively, WMATA patrons can contact the Metro Transit Police Communications Division directly at 202-962-2121 and have an officer dispatched to take the report. Bicycles which appear to be abandoned (missing wheels and seats, appear to have there for an extended period) should be reported to the Station Manager. WMATA will place an impound notice on the bicycle, and if not removed within 10 days, will remove, store, and will attempt to contact the owner.
