Visited “Tiffany Mimi Market” this weekend. It’s a nice space with a friendly staff and a good mix of basic groceries you’d find in a mini-market. They also have coffee. Their hours are listed as 5:30 AM to 10 PM, Monday through Saturday, and 5:30 AM through 9:00 PM on Sunday, although I stopped by at 5:00 PM on Sunday for some sugar and they were closed. But bottom line, I think it’s a better option — and a better shopping experience — than the market on New Jersey and Q.
thanks for the review. i wanna check it out!
Where is this?
Beth: it’s in the title! North Capitol St. and P St, on the south west corner.
Exact address is 1426 North Capitol, NW.
Exciting. Will be there this weekend. I have to get a part-time job to keep doing my weekly local business runs. Does this BACA gig pay anything?
Is the place called the Tiffany Mimi market or did they misspell “mini”?
I think it’s a misspell but who knows?
They were handing out business cards that had ‘Mimi’ on it and a lookup in pivs shows it’s name as ”TIFFANY MIMI MARKET’, so it looks intentional.
are the owners Tiffany and Mimi? Look again at the photo.
This does look like a nice place, they were very friendly when I walked by opening day.
Have to say I actually like the new jersey and q market. Not only is it less than a block from my house but the staff there is very friendly. They also have been working hard to make their market more friendly and have things the neighborhood needs. I think they are more than willing to work with the neighbors. They also donated drinks for an event I did for the Perry Center a few years ago.
I agree the staff is nice at the Q St location, but i know many people who never go there because it looks run down and dreary inside. Also in the summer is the problem of lots of kids just hanging around outside.
