      1. Mac – The issue is not as simple as issuing a letter of support. First, I know the developers through my work with North Capitol Main Street. BACA was never approached for a letter of support. The reason letters of support from Bloomingdale or Eckington were issued are ones which I support. The main reason being is that the developer has failed to inform the community of what their hours of operations would be, they had originally had said 3pm. There are concerns that giving the developer letters of support not knowing what it is that is being supported may leave us with a night club down the road should the restaurant not be as profitable. I encourage you work with me, North Capitol Main Street or Commissioner Thomas’s Economic Development Committee to contribute to our efforts to bring economic development to our area. 1. Thanks Giovani for your response. Hopefully Mr. May and the Firehouse team can respond regarding hours of operation and address any other issues that may be of concern to the community. I also hope that BACA makes very clear what would be required in order to provide a letter of support, and do whatever is possible to help expedite the approval process and eliminate unncessary beauracracy for obtaining the necessary permits. I personally think the restaurant concept as proposed (assuming it’s NOT just another night club), would be a tremendous boost the neighborhood and development of North Capitol St.
