Bates Area Civic Association Comes Out to Fire House Fund Raiser

Over 15 members of our community were present at the North Capitol Main Street Spring Fundraiser at The Fire House. The event was a success with over 100 people in attendance. This event will help support NCMS’ efforts to bring the right businesses to our neighborhood.

The next big event for NCMS will be the annual art walk. We are looking for volunteers (including homes that will display the sculptures in their front yards down First ST NW). The Art Walk takes place the first weekend in August. For volunteer opportunities, please contact Lonna Hooks, Executive Director of NCMS at lhooks@ncmsinc.org or visit www.ncmsinc.org.

  1. How was the event on Saturday? Unfortunately we were not able to make it, but would love to hear comments from those that attended. How did the place look? Did it seem close to being ready? Were there any updates provided on the time-line or other plans for opening?

    thanks!

  2. The event was awesome. We had over 125 people in attendance. As you may see from the pictures on our Facebook page that people had a great time. The Fire House will not be ready for opening July 4th weekend as first predicted. A chef has been hired and menu published. The developers were in the process of submitting the application for a liquor license. So it may not be until end of summer for opening. I will post information as I receive it about this project.
