Not only was it temperature hot, but it was fantastic seeing active Civic Association members from Florida Avenue, New Jersey Avenue, 4th ST, 3rd ST, Bates, Q ST, P ST and First ST come out and beautify our tree boxes.
The Bates Area Civic Association made rose bushes and bags of mulch available to due paying members for this beautification project. The project cost $585, off of which came from money raised from memberships. It was because of the commitment and support of these members that our Civic Association is able to function and take on great projects.
Due paying members committed to planting the roses in public tree boxes and to water and maintain the tree boxes. So at the end, all of our community benefits as everyone can enjoy the beauty of the roses as they bloom.
We have now reached a record of 40 members and will continue to reach out as we strategize to raise funds for youth programs, community improvement projects and community development.
Remember, you can support the Civic Association on Saturday, June 25th during the Flower Power Garden Walk and reception following the walk.
