Like a vampire that won’t stay dead.
This doesn’t seem like a bad deal to me. I was completely opposed to the hosing component, I expect the youth build charter school will have a positive impact on the neighborhood as Kipp has over at 4th & P… I hope we can support this move and ensure that the other 2-floors are used appropriately (i.e. not for housing).
Oops, that’s housing…
It seems like a good deal. I hope the city can place a requirement that any sublease must be approved by the ANC, community or similar. We all saw how much CAPCS engaged the neighborhood before leasing their school to a church. After the past two years, YBPCS/LAYC has a lot of work to do before I’ll trust them to work hand in hand with the neighborhood.
want to say thank you to everyone who worked toward ensuring our neighborhood had a voice and wasn’t ignored as has often been the case. While there is still much work to come with this project it shows that the community working together can be heard!
