Subject: [MPD-5D] PSA 501 Drug Free Zone

I just wanted to make the community aware that the Chief of Police declared a Drug Free Zone in the Hanover/Bates/Truxton Circle neighborhood beginning today, September 22nd. It encompasses the area bounded by North Capitol St., P St., 1st St., and N St. NW and will run through September 26th.

Drug Free Zones are temporarily established to allow the enforcement of anti-loitering laws against groups believed to be involved in illicit drug activity. So, if you observe what you believe to be this kind of behavior within this area during this period, please call it in. Our 501 officers will be out there looking to enforce this zone.

Thanks,

Sergeant Jon Dorrough

Washington, D.C.
Fifth District
