Truxton Circle fountain tracked down in Maryland

Truxton Circle stood at Florida Avenue, North Capitol Street, Q Street, and Lincoln Road from 1901 to 1940, when it was demolished to aid commuter traffic.
LeDroit Park resident Eric Fidler has posted at his Left For LeDroit blog an entry on two old DC fountains — McMillan and Truxton Cirlce — that are presently housed in the woods at the Fort Washington National Park.

Eric`s post has a number of images, so you may wish to click on the Left for LeDroit link below to see his assorted pics.

Thanks to Eric for taking a field trip and tracking down the fountains (or, at least, pieces of the fountain)!
