Ward 5 resident Eric Jones posted this brief message at the Ward 5 list:
On WAMU’s most recent Door to Door they actually covered Truxton Circle (in the southwestern part of Ward 5) which many folks now call the Bates/Truxton area. You can find it at www.wamu.org on the right hand side of the page.
At the wamu.org website, I found the link that mentions Truxton Circle (wamu.org/programs/metro_connection/11/10/14/door_to_door_truxton_circle_dc_clinton_md?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+WAMU885MetroConnection+%28WAMU%3A+Metro+Connection%29). Here is the text there:
It’s our weekly trip around the region. This week, we visit Truxton Circle, where resident Patricia Huffman says the circle that gave her neighborhood its name was destroyed decades ago to make room for automobile traffic. But she says Truxton Circle’s sense of community is now returning. We also visit Clinton, MD, formerly known as Surrattsville. Resident Laurie Verge says many people do not realize the city’s tie to a major American historical event — the Lincoln assassination.
When I click on the “Play” button, nothing happens. Well, nice to see Truxton Circle mentioned, I guess.
