Weekly safety walks with Hanover Civic Association, MPD, and the Guardian Angels

Each Thursday a group of great neighbors from Hanover and BACA join forces with the Guardian Angels and MPD and walk our streets. Last night was no exception and while the turnout was good, we need more! It is a great way to learn about the neighborhood, interact with neighbors, and keep the streets free of crime. The group will not meet next week (Thanksgiving) but plans to meet again the Thursday after (December 1st) on the usual corner, 1st and O Streets NW at 8pm. As an added bonus, there will free hot chocolate! So stop making excuses, and come enjoy a walk & cup of hot cocoa!

  1. Please come and join us. Muggings are up throughout the neighborhood. Last night, there was a gunfight at North Cap and O St NW. Now more than ever, it is important to make it known that there are people here that care about their neighborhood — that we are watching, and those that would choose to do ill should take it elsewhere. Besides that, it’s a really empowering experience, and a great way to meet your neighbors. Hope to see you next Thursday, and in the meantime, Happy Thanksgiving!
